U.S. mobile advertising will approach $2B by 2012

Revenue from mobile advertising will reach nearly $2 billion in the U.S. by 2012, according to a new study from market research firm Frost & Sullivan, a finding that prompted the report's authors to warn that providers must remain mindful of subscribers' privacy rights. "Although advertisers will want to delineate their target audience by demographics, location, handset and other parameters, mobile operators should be cautious while providing information to preserve their subscribers' privacy," the report said.
